Bolivia, North Carolina Roadblocks

I was driving north on 211 and was stopped at a roadblock (both lanes). There were seven or eight vehicles total pulled over on both sides and one car in particular appeared to be overloaded with passengers and a law enforcement official was taking pictures of the car and it’s occupants. When I approached the officer he motioned me to stop. I took off my sunglasses and rolled down my window. I looked at him and asked him why I was being stopped (somewhat annyoyed according to my wife). He acted annoyed with me for asking him why and said it was a “license check” and asked to see mine. I showed it to him and he said “go ahead.”
