Massena, New York Roadblocks
Route 27, west of Massena before Ogdensburg Bridge to Canada
Same situation as previous post just 2pm in afternoon.
Both sides of road blocked.
Wanted to know where we were from and where we were going.

August 25, 2012 about 8:30 p.m. Construction cones on both lanes and centre of Route 27. A patrol car with lights flashing on each side of road. Several agents and dogs.Very well lit as if night construction was going on. The agent approached the car, noting we were Canadian, as Canadian licence plates are attached both front and back. He asked where we crossed (the border). He checked the back of the car with a flashlight. The agents were very polite and sent us on our way. We then passed a psychiatric hospital and correctional institute, so wondered if they were looking for a fugitive or for drugs. It was all very confusing, as we have never experienced anything quite like that.
Route 56 By Raymondville Golf Course
They have you stop by the Raymondville Golf course and question you while a border patrol officer has a dog walk around the rear of you vehicle. Not all vehicles have a dog walk around them.
On October 10, 2010 at 5:45 PM I stopped at a roadblock and notice a Border Patrol Officer make a circular motion with his hand to the officer with the dog and while I was being question I notice in my side mirror the officer with the dog walking around my vehicle. The officer questioning me took his time and asked me about my speaker system in the back of my SUV.
In 2000, the United States Supreme Court ruled in City of Indianapolis vs. Edmond that this violated your Fourth Amendment rights.
County Route 40 or West Hatfield Road
It was 10:35PM and there was about 8 troopers with cars on both sides. It was dark and you could not see the Troopers until you where almost on top of them. The area was not lite up and was unsafe because you couldn’t see them until you where almost on top of them. It’s a State LAw that when they set up road blocks at night it must be in a lited area and if not they must use their portable lights they have.

Often working with US Border Patrol. Very rude attitude and demeanor—seems primary purpose is intimidation.
