Fort Ann, New York Roadblocks

Roadblock observed on Rt 149 several miles east of Fort Ann. Traffic stopped in both directions. Officer indicated it was a “safety checkpoint” and stated they were checking to see “if everyone was buckled up”. He then asked where we were headed and looked around the interior of the front and rear seating area of the vehicle with a flashlight. Upon answering his question we were told to pull on through. There were approximately 6 patrol cars and 10-12 officers. One individual was wearing a vest with the lettering “DEA” on the back.
