Park Ridge, Illinois Roadblocks

One police SUV blocking left lane with 3 officers checking for seat-belt usage. Numerous side streets are present prior to the checkpoint – Western and Greenwood both offer turnoffs to avoid this particular location. If headed East, turn left at Greenwood, take Greenwood north past the RR tracks and turn right on Busse Hyw (just over tracks) to get back to Touhy past the checkpoint. No checkpoint on WB side.

On November 15, 2011 there was a live officer seatbelt check station. I confronted the officers, who then made snide remarks, about revenue generation and civil liberties etc. They stated that there were several such stations in place in the city of Park Ridge at the time. When I informed them that it was my duty to warn drivers of the trap, they quickly threatened to jail me for obstruction of justice.
