Algonquin, Illinois Roadblocks
Westbound Rt 62/Algonquin Rd and Ryan Prkwy
Typical pre-scheduled roadblock for “safety check” (aka Drunk Driving) for all westbound vehicles on Rt 62 (Algonquin Rd.) just before the Butera supermarket. All westbound traffic is herded right onto Ryan Parkway and into unused parking lot with very bright road construction lights throughout the lot and many, many uniformed officers in and out of their vehicles. Also, tow trucks ready and available in lot to remove vehicles of arrested drivers. This roadblock occurs between one to three times each year at the same location for the past 4 years now. Generally from 8pm until 4am the following morning.
This was published in the local newspapers about 3 days in advance.
Intersection of Algonquin Rd and Ryan Pkwy
ISP Roadside Safety check. All eastbound Algonquin Rd vehicles must exit right onto Ryan Pkwy and into parking lot to the immediate right. Occurred 11:30 PM on June 14. Towtruck was available and removing vehicles of what I believe might had been under DUI arrest. I suspect this roadblock will continue until 4 AM according to the newspapers as published in advance.
WB IL Route 62 at Ryan Parkway
Usually Friday or Saturday night, Pulling all WB traffic into the northeast corner parking lot
